LAHORE: A large number of students and their parents attended the 18th annual nationwide DAWN Education Expo 2023 that opened at the Pearl Continental Hotel here on Saturday.

The exhibition is the largest education expo being held in Pakistan, assembling the leading international and local universities, colleges and higher education institutes, notably from Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Iran, Malaysia, North Cyprus, Pakistan, Russia, Turkiye, UAE, USA and UK.

The exhibition has been organised to help institutes of higher learning reach a national cross section of Pakistani students, intending to go for further education here or abroad.

At the exhibition the faculty, admission officers and career counselors interacted with the visiting students individually. The event has been scheduled at a time when most participating institutions are enrolling students.

One of the visitors, Shaheer Tahir, said he was about to complete his A Level and wanted to get information about different universities for bachelor studies. He said he visited different stalls and got a lot of information from the university representatives.

Another visitor, Yasir Rasheed, who was also carrying leaflets and brochures of different universities, said it was a pleasant experience to meet the representatives of the world renowned institutions at the expo. He said he and his father wanted to get informed about future prospects of his higher studies and were overloaded with the information about different universities. “We have got information about faculty, hostel, fee structure and general issues,” he said.

Mahad Saleem said he was visiting the expo to know about the fee structure of the university where he was planning to get admission for his bachelor in social sciences. He said although he could surf the internet to get information, the expo provided the opportunity to cross check the information available online.
