DADU, Jan 9: Federal Minister for Water and Power Liaquat Ali Jatoi has said that a barrage will be built on the River Indus at Dadu which will end shortage of water.

He was speaking at a ceremony organized to hand over four ambulances to health officials here on Monday.

The minister said a survey for construction of the Nai Gaj dam to store rain water had been completed and work on the project would be started next month.

The EDO, health, Dr Dhani Bux Thebo, said that the four ambulances had been purchased for Rs2.5 million from funds of the district government and would be given to Mehar, Radhan, Wahi Pandhi and Khanpur hospitals.

He said that 90 motorcycles had been purchased for vaccinators and 50 new beds had been added at the Dadu Civil Hospital. He said that ICU, child and dialysis wards were under construction at the hospital.
