PESHAWAR: A constable sustained injuries when an unknown person opened fire at him in the jurisdiction of Gulbahar police station here on Wednesday morning, officials said.

They said Noor Habib was on way to his duty station when unknown persons fired at him, leaving him injured.

“There were two persons with one sitting and the other standing on the roadside in Gulbahar. One of them opened fire at the constable,” SP city Abdul Salam Khalid told Dawn, adding the case was being investigated from different angles.

“There are drug addicts, mostly ice drug users, who might have been involved in the attack, but we still are investigating the case on different angles,” he said.
