ISLAMABAD: A violent clash over a land dispute has left a man dead and two injured in the capital’s rural area, Police said on Wednesday.

Besides, culprits shot and injured another man during a robbery.

In the first incident, a villager was shot dead by his relatives, while his two rivals were injured over a piece of land located in the area of Moza Mohrian, Banigala, they said, adding that the deceased was identified Adnan and injured as Khalid Mehmood and Yasir Mehmood.

The police said two relative families had a dispute over inherited land and they were in litigation and had obtained stay orders too.

During the clash both the parties used weapons and fired at each other.

As a result three persons sustained bullet injuries, they said, adding that after getting the information the police reached the spot and shifted the injured to hospital where Adnan was pronounced dead.

In another incident, robbers shot and injured a man during a robbery at Sanam Chowk, the police said, adding that the injured was identified as Ali Imran Abbasi.

Two persons asked Abbasi for a lift on his motorcycle. When they reached the chowk they pulled out a pistol and snatched his motorcycle held him up at gunpoint and escaped towards Khanna, they said.

Abbasi also chased them on another motorcycle and overpowered one of them.

However, another culprit fired at him and as a result he sustained a bullet injury and fell on road and the culprits escaped.

Another man narrowly escaped as culprits fired at him during a robbery attempt in F-11/3, the police said.
