MUZAFFARABAD: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas on Monday flew to Karachi on his first visit to the provincial metropolis after assuming this office in April lastyear.

According to an official spokesman, the prime minister would on Tuesday start his engagements by paying his respects to the father of the nation Quaid-i- Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah at his mausoleum.

Later, he would visit the martyrs monument and also offer Fateha at the grave of former military ruler Gen Pervez Musharraf. The spokesman said that PM Ilyas is also scheduled to meet Sindh chief minister Murad Ali Shah and leader of the opposition Haleem Adil Shaikh on Tuesday.

The premier would meet and attend a dinner with the Karachi Kashmiri community on Tuesday, he said.

On Wednesday, PM Ilyas is likely to meet Sindh Governor and visit Karachi Chamber ofCommerce and Industry.

In his visit Mr Ilyas is accompanied by cabinet members Abdul Majid Khan, Chaudhry Mohammad Rasheed and Faheem Akhtar Rabbani apart from his principal secretary Fayyaz Ali Abbasi, secretary information Ansar Yaqoob, secretary tourism Midhat Shahzad and Senior Member Board of Revenue Chaudhry Liaqat Hussain.
