KOHAT: Four persons were gunned down during an armed clash between two rival groups here on Thursday night over a property dispute in the far-flung Barh area in the jurisdiction of Saddar police station.

A local elder Najmal told Dawn that a land dispute had been going on between both the parties since long. They came face to face on Thursday and after a brawl opened fire at each other.

As a result, Mohammad Yousuf, Iqbal, Rauf, and Saqib died on the spot, SHO Qismat Khan said.

He said the dead bodies were later shifted to the KDA Teaching Hospital and handed over to the heirs after autopsy.

A case has been registered against both the parties and a search launched in the area to arrest the accomplices. Barh is a secluded area situated near Tanda Dam several miles from Kohat city.
