LAHORE: Diamond Paints edged past Master Paints 8-7½ while FG Polo overcame DS Polo 9-6 as two more matches were decided in the Takmeel Square Second President of Pakistan Polo Cup at the Jinnah Polo Fields here on Friday.

Mir Huzaifa Ahmed stood out for Diamond Paints with three goals with team-mates Nico Roberts and Ahmed Ali Tiwana grabbing two each as five goals from Manuel Crispo went in vain for Master Paints, who had a half-goal handicap and lost by the narrowest of margins.

At the halfway stage, Master Paints had raced into a 5½-2 lead before Diamond Paints came storming back, scoring three times in the third chukker before adding another three in the fourth.

FG Polo prevailed in the day’s other match thanks to four goals each from Mian Abbas Mukhtar and Raul Laplacette. For DS Polo, Hissam Ali Hyder smashed a hat-trick while Javier Guerrero scored twice.

The two sides were tied at 3-3 at the end of the first chukker before FG Polo pulled away to win the match.
