RAWALPINDI: Punjab caretaker Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare Dr Jamal Nasir visited Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Gujar Khan and laid the foundation stone of different projects aimed at renovating the hospital. 

These projects worth Rs60.3 million include construction of new operation theatre, renovation and expansion of blood bank, labour room and wards.  

District Health Authority Chief Executive Officer Health Dr Ansar Ishaq and Medical Superintendent Dr. Sarmad Kayani were also present.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that all possible steps are being taken to improve the system in government health facilities and to provide timely medical assistance to the citizens.

He said that the duty rosters of doctors and nurses should be displayed at a prominent place in all wards including emergency.  

He said citizens can register their complaints related to medical facilities at 1033 helpline, which is a digital system for receiving and handling complaints.

He said under this system, timely action is taken on the complaints of citizens, while in case of negligence, the MS concerned is held responsible.
