BAHAWALPUR: The Punjab Tourism Development Corporation (TDCP) has returned the sightseeing double-decker bus to Bahawalpur.

The TDCP took action after Governor Balighur Rehman and Commissioner Dr Ehtesham Anwar intervened.

According to an official handout, with the bus service during previous years, domestic and foreign tourists were provided with an opportunity to sightseeing the historical monuments and heritage of the historic forts, but a few days ago, the bus was shifted to Lahore.

The governor informed the TDCP officials that for the promotion of tourism in the historic city and adjacent Cholistan, where a winter safari would also be introduced, the sightseeing bus was necessary.

The local administration also planned Sunday visits for citizens to the internationally renowned Lala Sohanra National Park in order to generate revenue through the sightseeing bus service. Besides, there would also be periodic bus tours to other historical monuments.

The sightseeing bus service was introduced here about two years ago for the recreation of the local population.
