RAHIM YAR KHAN: Three people were killed while 24 others injured when a Pakpattan-bound bus from Sadiqabad overturned in a bid to save a motorcyclist near Bees Wali Colony in tehsil Liaqatpur, some 90 kms from here, on Wednesday.

Reports said a bus carrying around 50 passengers was on its way. When it reached near a dangerous turn, it overturned while saving a bike. As a result Abdul Ghafoor (45), Muhammad Sadiq (45) and Umar Din (75) were killed on the spot while 24 injured were shifted to THQ hospitals of Liaqatpur and Khanpur.

The tehsil administration seems to be least interested in implementing road safety measures on Shahi Road due to many dangerous turns which cause accidents. Earlier, 13 passengers were killed and five others injured when a sugar-laden truck fell onto a coaster at Feroza town main bus stop of Liaqatpur tehsil on Aug 13, 2022.
