LARKANA: Police claimed to have killed a hardened criminal and bandit in an encounter in the jurisdiction of Badah police station late on Wednesday night and found a pistol in his possession.

A spokesman for Larkana police said the bandit identified as Arif Khuhawar had been operating in the criminal world in Karachi, Larkana and other districts of Sindh. Several cases were registered against him at different police stations, he said.

The dead body was shifted to Chandka Medical College Hospital and was later handed over to relatives after completion of medico-legal formalities.

However, Badah police registered an FIR against the bandit in a fresh incident of encounter.
