QUETTA: A three-day annual cultural festival kicked off in Sibi with colourful events on Friday.

Balochistan Education Minister Mir Naseebullah Mari inaugurated the historic festival, which is held annually in Sibi district.

Irrigation Minister Muhammad Khan Lehri, Local Government Secretary Dos­­tain Khan Jamaldini, Livestock Secre­tary Arshad Bugti, Sibi Commis­sioner Shahid Saleem Qureshi and Deputy Commissioner Mansoor Ahmed Qazi also attended the opening ceremony.

Addressing the event, the education minister said the government was committed to providing security to the public, adding that the festival was annually held to highlight the potential in Balochistan’s livestock sector. He announced cash prizes for the students who performed in the opening ceremony.
