LAHORE: Raul Laplacette inspired FG Polo to a narrow 9½-9 victory over BN Polo in the main final to lift the Second President of Pakistan Polo Cup trophy here at the Jinnah Polo Fields on Sunday.

Laplacette scored the double hat-trick for the winning side while team-mates Ramiro Zavaleta, Saqib Khan Khakwani and Mian Abbas Mukhtar converted one goal apiece.

For BN Polo, Hamza Mawaz Khan fired in four goals while Tito Ruiz Guinazu contributed with a hat-trick and Baber Naseem with a brace.

The first two chukkers of the match were pretty balanced with BN Polo leading 3-2 but FG Polo dominated the third chukker and gained a 6-4 lead before going into the decisive phase. BN Polo came out all charged up and scored five goal in the last-chukker but FG Polo’s three goals were enough as the half-goal handicap advantage helped them clinch the trophy.

Earlier in the subsidiary final, Manuel Crispo five-goals helped Master Paints to a 9-7 triumph over Remounts.
