TOBA TEK SINGH: Jhang Assistant Commissioner Zohaib Ahmad Anjum sealed on Monday Shakarganj Sugar Mills over non-payment of farmers dues.

No official press release had been issued by the Jhang DC or AC offices in this regard; however, sources said action had been taken on the direction of DC with powers as additional cane commissioner for non-payment of millions of rupees dues of farmers against the sugarcane they had supplied to the mills during the last crushing season.

He sealed four godowns, admin building, accounts office and mills main gate.

CHAMPIONSHIP: Uzbekistan’s junior category team won the five-day international girls handball championship held at Government College University Faisalabad.

Pakistan team won the second position and Tajikistan stood third.

Commissioner Silwat Saeed and DC Ali Annan Qamar were the special guests in final matches. They distributed trophies among the winners, runners-up and other teams.

General Secretary Handball Association, Central Asia, Haji Muhammad Shafiq and District Sports Officer Sajida Latif were also present.

CHOPPED: The genital organ and nose of a man were chopped by his wife on Monday in the Rasheed Chowk area of Jhang, located on Old Chiniot Road.

Sources said Muhammad Javed was going to contract a second marriage. His wife administered her drugs, and when he passed out, she cut his parts and fled.

Javed was shifted to the Jhang DHQ Hospital. The police were conducting raids to arrest the woman.
