BAHAWALPUR: The Kahror Pacca police arrested a seminary teacher for raping a student.

According to the Lodhran police, the complainant alerted the police that his eight-year-old son was raped by his teacher at a neighbourhood Malkanwala seminary.

After the rape, the condition of the boy became serious. After reaching home, he informed his father, who reported the matter to the city police.

The police arrested the suspect under sections 376 and 377-B of the PPC. A medico-legal examination also confirmed the rape.

GANG: The Bahawalpur Saddar police arrested seven members of an inter-provincial gang.

The gang would strike buses and trailers. A patrolling team spotted the gang looting a tractor-trolley laden with maize.

The police team arrested six burglars, identified as Waseem, Muhammad Luqman, Danish, Tahir Bashir and others.

The police recovered from their possession a tractor-trolley, Rs5.1 million, and watches.

The gang was wanted for a number of dacoities and other heinous crimes registered against them in other districts of the province.
