KARACHI: The 9th KC Indus Pharma National Seniors & Juniors Tennis Championships came to a close on Friday with Raahim Veqar lifting the trophy of the boys U-18 singles here at the Karachi Club hardcourts on Friday.

Raahim emerged victorious defeating Samer Zaman 6-1, 6-3 while the U-14 singles final was won by Muzammil Bhand who dominated Samer Zaman with a score of 4-1, 4-0.

The pair of Muneer Derbari and Muzammil triumphed in the U-18 doubles final after overpowering the duo of Danish Hidayat and Soyam Sham 8-6.

Meanwhile, Zainab Ali won the girls U-18 singles final, beating Eschelle Asif 6-3, 6-2 but Eschelle atoned for the missed opportunity as she claimed the U-14 title after trouncing Daliah Ashraf 4-1, 5-4.

Earlier, Rashid Ali and Maaz Areejo won the U-12 doubles final against Ali Bachani and Abdul Malik 8-3. Rashid also won the U-12 singles crown as he downed Abdul Malik 4-1, 1-4, 4-2.

Muzammil also won the U-14 doubles title as he teamed up with Ruhab Faisal to rout the pair of Hazik Areejo and Ahmed Sheikh 8-4.

Later, Zubair Raja prevailed over Baqir Ali 5-3 in the men’s singles final while the doubles honours were claimed by the pair of Asad Ali Bhagat and Nomi Qamar.

The 45 plus doubles title was secured by the duo of Shabbir Gul and Rafi Derbari while Zafar Hasan and Javed Iqbal won the 55 plus doubles final.
