SARGODHA: A two-day book fair showcasing thousands of books on various subjects began at the University of Sargodha on Monday. About 10,000 books on various topics are at the fair.
The book fair was inaugurated by the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Prof Dr Ghulam Abbas Gondal, and Chief Librarian Dr Asif Naveed. A large number of students, book lovers, and faculty members showed their great interest in books.
The event aims to promote reading among the public by providing them with access to a vast collection of books.
The book fair features books from different publishers and authors covering science, literature, history, politics, mathematics, English, management sciences, finance, human resources, computer sciences, and art.
Prof Gondal highlighted the importance of reading in the development of students’ intellectual abilities.
He also emphasized the need for developing reading habits, as it helps students succeed in their academic and professional careers.
“Books are a source of knowledge and they can help students acquire a better understanding of the world around them,” he added.
