KOHAT: The district police officer, Shehzada Umer Abbas, has ordered deployment of 1,500 police personnel for security and maintenance of law and order during Ramazan.

He also ordered here on Wednesday foot and mobile patrolling of shopping markets, bazaars, and mosques.

Meanwhile, during targeted operations in Suleman Talab, Teen Talab, Miangan Colony and Akbarabad, 70 suspects have been held and weapons have been seized. The seizure includes two 12-bore repeaters, four rifles, five pistols, 20 magazines and a huge number of cartridges.

Police also searched 200 targeted houses, inns, residential areas and plazas and registered the names of the outsiders living there.
