KARACHI: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was on Thursday informed by the authorities concerned that the issue of gas loadshedding, disruption in supply and low pressure “has been resolved forthwith”, according to a handout issued by the PM House.

PM Sharif, during the parliament session a day earlier, had taken serious notice of the gas crisis in Karachi, and chaired an emergency meeting on the issue on Thursday, it said. The PM was given a detailed briefing by the officials concerned. The prime minister expressed his resentment over the troubles being faced by consumers due to disruption and low pressure in gas supply during the Sehr and Iftar timings, it said, adding that the PM said the authorities concerned should have chalked out an comprehensive strategy for a smooth supply of gas to consumers in Karachi during Ramazan.

The prime minister had asked the authorities concerned that no negligence in this regard should be demonstrated.

The PM was informed on Thursday that his directives were complied with and the issue now stood resolved, said the handout.
