KARACHI: A teenage girl, who according to the FIR lodged by her Karachi-based family was kidnapped by a person over a month ago, was found in Lahore and police claim she had married the suspect of her own free will.

Shah Faisal Colony police said the girl, who was 12 or 13 years old, went missing on Feb 13 and they had registered an FIR under Section 365-B of PPC on the complaint of her family.

The family, police said, had nominated Abdullah as the suspected kidnapper in the FIR.

The police conducted raids in Peshawar and Lahore, and found the girl “married to the suspect” in Lahore.

Korangi-SSP Sajid Amir Sadozai claimed that the girl had reportedly married the suspect with “her free consent” and her marriage papers were being verified there.

Last year, a teenage girl from Karachi, Dua Zehra, went missing from her home and was later found “married” to a boy in Punjab.
