KASUR: The caretaker chief minister on Monday removed Kasur Assistant Commissioner Rizwanul Haq Puri and issued a warning to Deputy Commissioner Arshad Bhatti over closure of free flour distribution points in the city before the prescribed time.

Mohsin Naqvi took action during a surprise visit to the Kasur city when he visited a flour distribution centre.

Mr Naqvi made the officials lift the shutters of the centre set up in a banquet hall to restart the distribution of free flour among the people who were standing outside after the closure of the point.

The caretaker CM reached the point 20 minutes before the closing time, i.e. 4pm. After his intervention, the officials deputed there resumed their duty.

The district administration also issued a press release, stating that the CM monitored the process of verification of beneficiaries and delivery of commodities.

It said the CM also talked to the beneficiaries there and asked about the issues they faced at the flour distribution points. He sought action against the negligent officials in the performance of their duties.

KASUR: At least 14 passengers suffered injuries when two busses collided on a road near village Pakki Haveli at Ferozepur Road in the limits of Saddar Police Station.

According to Rescue 1122, a bus was going to Lahore when it hit another bus that was taking a U-turn on the road. As a result aof the accident, at least 14 passengers, including Batool Fatima, Zubaida bibi, Arshad Ali, Sharif Hussain, Shaukat Ali, Shaukat Qamar, Hakim Siraj, Abdul Hafeez, Ali Hassan, Muhammad Saleem, Shahzada Khalid, Muhammad Anwar and Faisal, received injuries.

The injured were shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital. The drivers of both the vehicles fled.

HONOUR KILLING: A young woman was shot dead by her brother in an honour killing incident at village Badth Kalan in the area of Pattoki police.

Police said Muhammad Asad suspected that his sister Mahwish had relationship with Azhar alias Noora of the same village. Asad saw Mahwish riding with Azhar and opened fire on her. Mahwish died on the spot while her brother managed to escape.

Police shifted the body to the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital for autopsy and started looking into the matter.

BOY RAPED: A man allegedly raped a five years old boy at village Naroki Mahja in the Pattoki police area.

The accused, nominated in the first information report (FIR), kidnapped the minor from outside his house, took him to a nearby nursery and raped him there.

A medical report confirmed the rape.
