PESHAWAR: Unknown militants lobbed a grenade at the Inqilab police station on outskirts of the provincial capital on Tuesday night.

SHO Khalid Khan said a grenade was thrown at the police station, which exploded outside the building. He said that windowpanes of the police station were damaged due to intensity of the blast. He added that the building’s outside wall was also damaged.

Meanwhile, a territorial dispute surfaced between police stations of Yakkatoot and Bhana Marhi when officials from both stations refused to take responsibility of theft at shops.

Locals said that some six shops were looted by thieves in Rasheed Garhi area of the provincial capital.

When contacted, Allah Ditta, in-charge of Tauheed Abad police post, said that the area fell within the jurisdiction of Bhana Marhi police station.

Liaqat Khan, an official at the Bhana Marhi police station, however, stated that their team went to the spot to investigate the theft, but they found that the area fell within the jurisdiction of the Yakkatoot police station.
