BAHAWALPUR: A girl was axed to death by her three brothers who injured their two other sisters also over division of ancestral property at a village near Channigoth.

According to police and rescue sources, Tanveer, Ghulam Dastgir and Hafeez had a grudge against their sisters, Shahida, Naheed and Zahida, who were given their share in property by their mother.

Due to this, the siblings used to fight frequently with one another. At the time of occurrence, there was again a dispute between the siblings.

Three brothers with the help of axes and knives allegedly attacked their sisters and inflicted injuries to their bodies.

On receipt of emergency call, the rescuers rushed to the scene and shifted the injured to the Channigoth Rural Health Centre (RHC) where Shahida succumbed to her injuries. Naheed and Zahida were shifted to the Bahawal Victoria Hospital (BVH), Bahawalpur where they were stated to be in precarious condition.

The three culprits managed to flee from their house.

The Channigoth police reached the scene on Saturday morning and collected the evidence from the crime scene.

Police said they were busy with the post-mortem on the murder victim while the registration of murder case against their three brothers was under process.
