ISLAMABAD: The district administration has decided to include 185 more cameras in the safe city programme to ensure the security of the residents of Islamabad.
New cameras will be installed from airport to Srinagar Highway. The number of cameras in the programme has reached to 2,700 and around 1,100 cameras have been installed during last 11 months.
According to a spokesperson of Islamabad police, efforts were being made to improve the performance of the safe city project.
“On the directions of the Minister of Interior Rana Sanaullah as many as 185 more cameras will be included in the Islamabad safe city project. The installation of cameras will also be helpful in security of the New Zealand cricket team which has already started its tour of Pakistan and currently playing matches in Lahore,” he said.
The New Zealand cricket team will come to Islamabad next week.
Because of the installation of the cameras the overall number of the cameras of safe city programme will reach to 2,700.
He said that during last 11 months the number of cameras has increased by 1,100.
