TAXILA: Two persons were shot dead in separate incidents in Wah Model Town and Kallar Syedan on Wednesday.

Bilal Asghar, 22, was standing outside his house in Wah Model Town when two armed men tried to loot him and as he resisted, they shot him dead and fled away.

Separately, two armed robbers posing as customers entered a beef shop near Nehar stop in the Heavy Mechanical Complex (HMC) and held the owner at gunpoint.

Later they fled with looted items worth Rs600,000 successfully.

Ahsan Ali was going in a rickshaw when two persons posing as passengers snatched cash and mobile phone from him at gunpoint on G.T. Road in the limits of Wah Saddar police station.

Nisar Mehmood’s motorcycle was lifted by auto thieves in Jallala Road in Nawababad area in the limits of Wah Saddar police station.

Moreover, a teenage girl was abducted in the limits of Taxila police station on Wednesday.

Muneer Akhtar reported to police that Aziz with the help of six other persons, two of them women, have abducted his 17 years old daughter.

Meanwhile, a man was shot dead and another injured critically during a reconciliatory meeting between two rival parties in Kallar Syedan on Wednesday.

Preliminary police report suggested that Amjad and Mehboob, residents of Mamyam, Kallar Syedan, have been running a dispute over giving way on their lands. Some villagers, including Yasir Mehmood and Ghanzafar intervened to resolve the issue.

Police said while Yasir and Ghanzafar were trying to calm them down, one of them reportedly opened fire which resulted into death of Yasir and injuries to Ghanzafar.

The dead and injured were shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital where the injured was stated to be in critical condition.

Police said that the raids were underway to arrest the suspected killer.

Earlier, a man was gunned down by two unidentified persons in Alamabad, Ratta Amral, on Tuesday night.

Syed Ahmad Hashmi, in his FIR with the police said that he and his brother Syed Mohammad Hashmi were sitting in the drawing room when a man knocked at the door.

He said as he responded, he found two unidentified motorcycle riders outside.

He said that the pillion rider pulled out his pistol and fired gunshots on his brother Syed Mohammad Hashmi who died on the spot.

The alleged killer managed to escape while his brother succumbed to his injuries, he said.

Later the police handed the body over to his brother after the postmortem.

The motive behind the murder was yet to be ascertained by the police.
