RAWALPINDI: A security guard deployed at Bahria Town was murdered by a young man while another man was killed in Naseerabad area, police said on Sunday.

Javaid Iqbal, 24, a resident of Dhamial, lodged an FIR with the Airport police stating that his father Nazar Hussain had been serving as a private security guard at Bahria Town after retirement from the army.

He said he went to visit his father on Saturday night as his 12-hour duty started at 6pm.

He said his father and two other security guards were on duty when on suspicion they signaled two persons riding a motorcycle to stop at a barrier at about 3:30am.

One of the riders ran towards Gulraiz Colony while his accomplice was caught by his father and the other security guards and brought to their room.

He said in the FIR that the suspect identified himself as Nabeel Ahmad, a resident of Soan Garden. In the meantime, his accomplice who had run away reached the room and fired two gunshots which hit his father. The injured passed away while being shifted to Safari Hospital in Bahria Town.

The alleged killer escaped from the scene while his accomplice was handed over to the Airport police.

A police spokesman said raids were underway to arrest the alleged killer while the police had been investigating his accomplice.

Meanwhile, a man was murdered in a house in Chakra.

Suleman Khan, a resident of Chamanabad, lodged an FIR with the Naseerabad police saying that his brother Kamran Khan went to Chakra to visit his friends on Friday night.

He said later he received a phone call from police that his brother had been murdered in a house in Chakra.

He said he reached the house at about 4:30am on Saturday and found Kamran’s body lying in a pool of blood. Two persons, including a woman, who were present there, informed him that another woman and a man identified as Moeez were in the house and Kamran and Moeez had a brawl during which the latter shot Kamran and escaped.
