MUZAFFARGARH: Police arrested a man for allegedly unleashing his pet dog on a minor girl who was left seriously injured, at Chak 640-TDA.

The man was later booked when District Police Officer Syed Hasnain Haider took notice of the incident and ordered police to register a case against him.

Complainant Abida Mai told police that a few days back, her neighbour David Masih, a resident of Chak 640-TDA, exchanged harsh words over some issue with her children.

She said that on Monday her daughter Mehwish (8) was in the street when David unleashed his pet dog on her. She said the dog mauled the girl, leaving her seriously injured.

The girl was shifted to a hospital for treatment.

After the DPO took notice of the incident, Sarwar Shaheed Chowk police registered a case against David Masih under sections 328A and 289 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and arrested him.
