KHAIRPUR, Jan 20: The former district nazim and member of the Forum of Young Global Leaders (FYGL), Ms Nafisa Shah, has said that the forum has constituted the Kaghan Valley Development Organisation in partnership with the government of Pakistan to help the region’s reconstruction and development in the aftermath of the earthquake.

She said this proposal followed a visit to the region by a delegation of FYGL, headed by Information Technology Minister Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari.

She said that the young global leaders would meet in Davos, Switzerland, on January 27, which will provide an opportunity to meet world community leaders who would be approached to support this initiative.

The Kaghan Valley Development Organisation will oversee the distribution of loans to reinvigorate the tourism industry that is vital to the greater Kaghan Valley region where Balakot, decimated by the earthquake, is located. The FYGL, a non-profit and non-partisan foundation dedicated to shaping the future and based in Geneva, will work in partnership with the Pakistan government and the private sector.
