Coaching the right way

This is with reference to the article “Coaching the right way”, by Faruk Ahmed (YW, March 25).

The writer offers insights on how to counsel students who are not performing well in their studies. He suggests that poor performance does not necessarily indicate a lack of interest in studies, as there may be many external factors, such as family or personal issues, that may impede one’s progress. And these often go unnoticed by teachers and those around the student.

The writer advises against labelling such individuals as lazy or incompetent and encourages a deeper understanding of their situation to offer the right support.

Every drop counts

This is regarding the article “Every drop counts!” by Muhammad Ibrahim Shafi (YW, April 29).

I agree with the writer that we must do our part in saving even a single drop of water, because water is an essential necessity for all living organisms.

If no drinking water is left, the entire planet could perish within a matter of days. It is never too late to do our part, and save as much water as we can.

II

The article “Every drop counts!” by Muhammad Ibrahim Shafi shook me to the core.

I admit that most of us waste water in one way or the other. For example, we often leave the tap running while lathering soap, resulting in significant water wastage. This and many more examples can be witnessed in almost all of our houses, which could lead to a shortage of water in our country at some point in the future.

Undoubtedly, water is one of nature’s most significant blessings and an essential need for humans and all the living things on earth. However, due to its limited availability, we must take adequate measures to conserve it and prevent the situation from deteriorating further.

Saad’s special Eid

This is regarding the story “Saad’s special Eid” by Rameen Kaka (YW April 29). It was rightly said by the writer that Eid is not all about expensive clothes and shoes; but it is about spreading kindness and sacrificing to give someone happiness.

We always give priority to ourselves when shopping, but we never think about the needs of the poor. We should be vigilant to the needs of the people around us, as they may be in need of our help, but too embarrassed to ask for it.
