Woman’s foot rotates 171.4 degrees

A New Mexico woman was awarded a Guinness World Records title when she demonstrated her ability to turn her foot to an angle of 171.4 degrees.

Kelsey Grubb, 32, of Albuquerque, said her figure skating experience led to her becoming curious about her own flexibility after learning of a previous record.

Grubb is now the official record holder for the largest foot rotation (female), after proving she can easily turn her foot 171.4 degrees.

“Most people are grossed out and fascinated at the same time,” she said. “The most common phrase I’ve heard about it is not that the movement itself is gross, just the ease at which I turn it.”

World Jigsaw puzzle championship sets world record

Guinness World Records announced that the 2022 World Jigsaw Puzzle Championship in Valladolid, Spain, was officially the largest competition in the world for puzzle solvers.

The competition featured a total 2,293 jigsaw enthusiasts from 44 countries competing in puzzle-solving races as individuals, pairs and four-person teams.

The international contest, which was first held in 2019, is organised and supervised by the World Jigsaw Puzzle Federation.

The 2023 World Jigsaw Puzzle Championship, a five-day event, is scheduled to kick off with an opening ceremony on September 20.

Snake flips switch, stops traffic

A large snake brought traffic to a stop at an intersection in Prince William County, Virginia.

The snake was in an electrical panel at the intersection of Prince William Parkway and Sudley Manor Drive and caused a power outage.

A police officer and an animal control officer worked together to remove the snake from the panel and release it unharmed in the area, authorities said.

The snake was so large that it flipped a breaker switch that shut off the signal, but it didn’t damage anything inside the box. It’s believed that the snake had been living in the box for a while due to molten skin found inside.

When traffic signals aren’t working because of a power outage, police say to treat intersections like stop signs.
