The Islamabad High Court has issued a written verdict ordering the release of PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry and termed his arrest under the Maintenance of Public Order as “unlawful”.

Penned by Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb, the order, a copy of which is available with Dawn.com stated Fawad submitted an undertaking that he will not partake in or incite any violent protest.

“[…] And shall also not take part in any public procession conducted by his political party in violation thereof,” the order read.

It also restrained the respondents from arresting Fawad for two more days “only during which the petitioner (Fawad) may apply for bail before arrest from the relevant court”.
