Amnesty International has raised concerns about Pakistan’s use of military courts to try civilians, describing it as a clear violation of international law.
In a tweet, the human rights watchdog highlighted that existing criminal laws contain provisions to prosecute offences such as vandalism and destruction of public property.
It emphasised that this practice undermines the right to a fair trial guaranteed by Pakistan’s Constitution and cannot be justified.
