ISLAMABAD: Adiala Jail authorities have refused to allow the family member of detained Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi to meet him, despite waiting for hours, claimed Barrister Taimur Malik on Saturday.

The counsel for PTI leader said Gohar Bano Qureshi, Mr Qureshi’s daughter, returned without meeting her father after waiting for hours.

Barrister Malik claimed that Mr Qureshi refused to sign any written declaration that could affect his political and democratic rights. As a result, the authorities concerned not only delayed Mr Qureshi’s release but also deprived him of his fundamental, legal and constitutional rights to meet his family members.

He said that there were reports that the PTI vice chairman was being transferred to Attock Jail, adding that shifting Mr Qureshi to any other jail would be sheer violation of court orders.
