Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has asserted that the “rioters” of May 9 deserve no leniency.

“Today, we are standing in the courts of history and we have to take action against these people under the law and Constitution because they deserve no leniency,” he said.

“It was decided after a long discussion that the people who attacked civilian properties will be charged under the anti-terrorism act and they will be brought to court with evidence.

“And for the military installations … it is decided that the authority the army has under the Constitution … action will be taken against the rioters under those laws,” the premier added.
