ISLAMABAD: Two more police stations have been made operational in Islamabad, raising the total number of police stations in the capital to 27, police said.
The new police stations of Sumbal and Humak have been created in the limits of Saddar and Rural Zones, respectively.
The Sumbal police station has been made operational with the strength of 54 officials, including three SIs, nine ASIs and 10 head constables.
The manpower for the police station were taken from Sangjani, Secretarit, Kohsar, Aabpara, Karachi Compnay, Shalimar, Ramn, Tarnol, Golra, Industrial Area, Margalla, Noon, Sabzi Mandi, Shams Colony and Tarnol police stations along with the operations division and Rescue 15.
The Humak police station has started functioning with the strength of 53 officials, including three SIs, seven ASIs and 11 head constables, who were arranged from Loi Bher, Koral, Sihala, Koral, Khanna, Shahzad Town, Aabpara, Banigala, Bhara Kahu, Kirpa, Kohsar, Ramna, Shahzad Town, Sabzi Mandi, Secretariat and Shalimar police stations.
Sumbal, Humak police stations have been created in limits of Saddar, rural zones
Sumbal and Humak police stations were established after detailed discussions with the revenue officers/patwaris regarding proposed maps of the police stations and changes to the jurisdiction of Sangjani, Tarnol, Loi Bher, Golra and Kirpa police stations.
In this regard, the concerned police stations also prepared crime index according to changed and proposed areas of jurisdiction of police stations.
The change in the limits of the police stations and establishment of the new police stations were proposed keeping in view the crime rate, population, demographic shifts, public accessibility and convenience, police officers said.
With the creation of the two new police stations, the jurisdictions of Sihala, Loi Bher, Kirpa, Golra, Sangjani and Tarnol police stations were also changed as the areas fall in their limits were given to the Humak and Sumbal police stations.
The Sumbal police station comprises G-12, G-13, G-14, F-12, F-13, and F-14 along with the revenue estates of Mera Sumbal Akho, Meera Sumbal Jahfar, Thala Sadydan, Shello and partial revenue estate of Daraik Moori, Chohan and Bad-i-Rustam Khan.
The Humak police station consists of village Humak, Niazian, Bilmaknet, Kortana, Pangreel Khurd Pangreel Kalaan, Sheikhpur, Dhoke Kaak, Dakhli Sihala and partial revenue estate of Kahota Kalan.
The police station has been made operational in the building of the Sihala police station.
The boundary of Sihala police station covers T-Chowk Rawat to Islamabad West, expressway, DHA II, DHA Valley Road, River Sawan (north side) and the dead end at the capital territory boundary.
The limit of the Golra police station is D-12, D-13, D-14, E-12, E-13 and E-14 along with Shah Allahdita and Dhoke Lubhana.
The limit for the Sangjani police stations is D-15, D-16, D-17, C-15, C-16 and C-17 along with revenue estate of village Dhoke Sangjani upper side mountains (Sharki and Gharbi), Dhoke Jori, Dhoke Raja Mehboob, Sangjani Salim, Sara-i-Madhu along with partial revenue estate of Sarra-i-Kharbooza, Piswal and Badhan Khurd.
Besides, the proposed boundary of Sangjani police station is D-15, C-15, the hill straight line of mountain boundary at east side, end of the capital territory boundary at west side till the end of the capital territory boundary at north side and straight boundary of D-15, D-16 and D-17 at south side.
The limit of the Loi Bher police station includes old Abadi Loi Bher village and partial revenue estate of Ghagrri, Bora Bhangial, Bokor, Panwal and Pagh.
The areas of Darwala, Sher Dhamial, Peja Pimber Tarrar, Gohrra Mast, Channi, Masu Khan, Pandoori Saidaan, Pandoori Hathial, Siga, Pind Malikan, Ladhioot Sayedan, Jandiala, Jabbi Bakhrran, Hardoghir and Khatri are included in the Kirpa police station’s limits.
It has been decided that the Kirpa police station, currently operating at the Koral police station, will be established at a state land in Darwal near Japan Road.
The areas such as G-15, G-16, G-17, E-15, E-16, E-17, F-15, F-16 and F-17 are now in the limits of of the Tarnol police station.
In August 2022, the police stations of Kirpa, Phulgran and Sangjani were established.
