QUETTA: A division bench of the Balochistan High Court, comprising Chief Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Justice Muhammad Amir Nawaz Rana, heard a petition on Monday, seeking former prime minister Imran Khan’s trial under Article 6 of the Constitution.

A senior lawyer of the Supreme Court, Abdul Razzaq Shar, pleaded that Mr Khan had violated the Constitution by advising the president to dissolve the National Assembly, and thus, he should be tried under Article 6.

The BHC bench after initial hearing issued notices to Additional Attorney General Rauf Atta and Deputy Attorney General Muhammad Naeem Kasi to submit a reply on the next hearing, which will be held on June 7.
