ISLAMABAD: PTI Chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday sent a Rs10 billion defamation notice to federal Health Minister Abdul Qadir Patel over the latter’s “false, disparaging, malicious and defamatory” allegations at a press conference wherein he raised questions regarding the former prime minister’s medical status.
The notice was sent to the minister through lawyer Abuzar Salman Niazi under Section 8 of the Defamation Ordinance 2002 for circulating “baseless” information at his May 26 press conference and demanded that he tender an unconditional apology to Imran Khan and take back his allegations within 15 days and admit that he had misstated.
