LAHORE: Agriculture Secretary Iftikhar Sahu chaired a meeting on Tuesday to discuss Chinese assistance for improving farm machinery, seeds and the value chain.

To pursue this objective, a delegation of officers from the provincial department will be visiting China in the near future.

During the meeting, it was highlighted that the MNS Agriculture University, Multan, has entered into 11 MoUs with a Chinese counterpart for collaborative farm research. Similarly, the UAF is engaged in 57 different farm research projects in cooperation with China.

Secretary Sahu called for comprehensive proposals from the Agriculture Extension, Pest Warning, Floriculture, and Mechanisation wings regarding the technical support needed from China to enhance the agricultural sector.
