BAHAWALPUR: The Qureshiwala police in Lodhran district on Tuesday arrested a man for allegedly raping a minor girl.

According to the first information report (FIR No 543/23) registered under Section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) on the complaint of the girl’s father, Mukhtiar Ahmed, he had to go out of the town for employment in a mill and left his minor daughter at the house of a relative ‘SK’.

He said that on his return, his daughter told him that during her stay at his house, ‘SK’ allegedly raped her.

Acting on the complaint, the police registered a case against the suspect and later arrested him in a raid.
