MEMORIAL LIBRARY: The Sir Shahnawaz Bhutto Memorial Library in Larkana is a popular educational resource for the students. However, there has been a drop in the number of students visiting the library since an individual started collecting illegal charges for parking motorcycles in front of the library. No receipts are issued against the collected amount which raises questions about the legitimacy of the action. Similar practices are observed in other parts of the city as well, and those who ask for the legality of the matter often end up facing a hostile reaction from the mafia members. The relevant authorities should look into the matter urgently, and punish those collecting illegal parking charges.

DRAMA SCRIPTS: The scripts of almost all Pakistani drama serials being aired on various television channels these days appear to have the same storylines based on social stereotypes. They have a male character as the oppressor and a female character as the oppressed. This is creating a rather bleak picture in the minds of the viewers. The industry needs to seriously review what it wants to show on the screens.

DELAYED RESULTS: The Sindh Higher Education Commission had conducted interviews in January for the posts of assistants, junior clerks and stenographers, but the results were not announced for long.

Despite sending numerous emails and making calls to the relevant department, there was no trace of the results. The relevant authorities need to understand that candidates always wait desperately for the results of any exam or interview, especially when it is related to a career prospect. Inexplicable delays do them no good at all, and official silence on the matter makes the process less than transparent in their eyes.
