LAHORE: The police on Thursday told the Lahore High Court that no case had been registered against PTI chairman Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan.

A provincial law officer submitted a report on behalf of the Punjab Police, saying that the petitioner had not been booked in any case.

In the light of the police report, Justice Amjad Rafiq disposed of the petition of Ms Khan who had sought details of the cases against her or possible arrest by the police in any undisclosed case. The petition alleged that the police registered various cases against her and sealed the FIRs with mala fide intention. It said there were apprehensions about the arrest of the petitioner in any undisclosed FIR. The petition asked the court to order the police to submit details of all the cases, if any, registered against the petitioner and also restrain them from arresting her.

On June 12, Aleema Khan had secured pre-arrest bail from an anti-terrorism court in the Jinnah House attack case.

The court granted her bail till June 27 with a direction to join the police investigation.

The Sarwar Road police had registered a case of the attack on Jinnah House, which also serves as the residence of Lahore`s corps commander, following the property’s vandalisation during the May 9 riots involving PTI leaders and workers.

BHATTI: Former principal secretary to the chief minister Muhammad Khan Bhatti on Thursday approached the LHC for provision of a better class in jail.

Mr Bhatti, who is on judicial remand in a case of alleged corruption, filed a petition through a counsel, pleading that he was a BPS-22 officer and had been working on different high positions.

The petitioner said he had not been provided with basic facilities, including medicines and home cooked food. He also complained about inadequate medical treatment.

Bhatti said he, being a gazetted government officer, was entitled to better class in the jail. He asked the court to order the jail authorities to provide him with all the facilities permitted under the law.

The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) had registered multiple cases of alleged misappropriation of the development funds and misuse of authority against the former principal secretary, believed to be a confidant of former chief minister Parvez Elahi.
