RAWALPINDI: All government departments in the garrison city observed anti-dengueday on Friday to create awareness among residents through seminars and walks.

A seminar was held at the Rawalpindi District Authority offices. Regional Director Health Dr Anser Ishaq and a large number of students and teachers attended the seminar.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Anser Ishaq said the day was being celebrated in all tehsils with an aim to make people realise that strict precautionary measures needed to be taken in view of dengue menace in the coming days.

He said the district administration was taking all possible steps to eradicate dengue but it would not be possible without the participation of people in the campaign.

Dr Anser Ishaq said the current weather was conducive for dengue breeding due to humidity.

Therefore, the regional director health said that the most important thing was to keep the environment dry and clean.

Later, a walk was also held to highlight precautionary measure to control dengue.
