SWABI: Two men were killed in separate incidents here on Saturday, said police and Rescue 1122 officials.

Saeedur Rehman and his son, Hammad Khan, were attacked by two armed men, including Salman Khan of Marghuz area and Tayyab Khan of Zaida city, when the former were on the way home.

The gunfire killed Mr Hammad on the spot and left his father injured.

Passersby took both to the Bacha Khan Hospital Shahmansoor.

Also in the day, a man killed his brother in Naranji village of Razaar tehsil here over a property dispute.

The deceased’s wife told police that her husband, Kala Khan, wanted to get his share in the house left behind by his father, but his brother was a hurdle to it.

She said her husband repeated the demand on Saturday angering his brother, who shot him dead.

The police registered an FIR and began a search for the suspected killer.

Meanwhile, journalists criticised a brother of former National Assembly speaker Asad Qaiser over “diatribe against them for reporting the recovery of three non-customs paid vehicles” from his residence by the excise and taxation department.

They said they got the information about that recovery from the excise department, while Mr Qaiser’s family didn’t respond to their repeated phone calls on the matter. Journalist Jalil Ahmad Khan said he and other members of the media did their work without fear and knew how to fight for their rights.

In a video message, Mr Qaiser’s brother Adnan Khan said he bought a car in 2016 but journalists misreported that it was a non-customs paid one.

He added that the other vehicles reported by the media had been in the possession of his family since 2010-11.
