QUETTA: Barter trade among Pakistan, Afghanistan, Russia, and Iran would induce economic stability in the region, said the additional collector customs, Imran Afzal Lila on Saturday.

Speaking at a conference on barter trade organised by Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI), Mr Lila informed the audience that the new trade regime has simplified barter trade procedure.

He urged the business community to make the best out of this regime by initiating barter trades with other countries. He also said Pakistan Customs and other institutions would extend support for these initiatives.

“The barter trade would reduce the trade deficit and help promote regional integration.”

QCCI President Syed Abdul Ahad Agha said barter trade would work wonders for the economy of Balochistan not just by generating more revenue, but also creating new jobs.
