10 huts, four vehicles gutted by fire in Karachi

KARACHI: Around a dozen huts and four vehicles, including two rickshaws, were destroyed when a fire erupted in a shanty town on Superhighway near Jamali Pull on Tuesday, officials said.

KARACHI: Around a dozen huts and four vehicles, including two rickshaws, were destroyed when a fire erupted in a shanty town on Superhighway near Jamali Pull on Tuesday, officials said.

A fire brigade official said the blaze erupted in the Sindh Abad Goth near Maymar Mor in which 10 huts, two rickshaws and equal number of motorbikes were completely destroyed.

He said that firefighters quickly controlled the blaze and saved 200 huts.

The cause of fire could not be ascertained till late in the night.
