HARIPUR: The police on Monday claimed to have killed a man wanted for crimes here and in Punjab areas.

District police officer Omar Khan Gandapur told reporters that Jibran of Lab Meel village was killed in an encounter with police, while his accomplices, including Kamran alias Kami and Ali Haider, were taken into custody.

He said the three outlaws were involved in robberies, murder attempts and other crimes in Haripur, Taxila and Wah cantonment areas.

The DPO said the encounter in Qaziyan village occurred after the wanted men robbed two villagers of cash and valuables in a Serae Saleh area on Monday morning.
