MARDAN: Two persons were killed when a car fell into a stream on Kalo Shah Road in Katlang tehsil of Mrdan.
Locals said that the ill-fated car fell into the stream when the driver lost control over its steering. Rescue 1122 officials rushed to spot and shifted the victims to tehsil headquarters hospital where the doctors pronounced them dead.
The deceased were identified as Bilal Dad and Uzair Khan, residents of Kohi Barmool area of Katlang.
DEADLINE: Paramedical Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa set July 10 as deadline to the government for fulfilment of their demands and threatened to announce boycott and sit-in on July 12 if their issues were not resolved till expiry of the deadline.
Paramedical Association provincial president Sharafatullah Yousafzai, senior vice-president Anwar Khan, additional general secretary Shamsul Taj along with other office-bearers of the association told a press conference that their genuine demands were not accepted.
Mr Yousafzai alleged that policies of previous provincial government of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf deprived paramedics of their rights. He said that the caretaker provincial government also did not take any practical step to fulfil the demands of paramedics.
The leaders of the association alleged that paramedics were ignored and a junior doctor was appointed as controller of medical faculty. They termed an injustice with paramedics.
They also demanded promotion of paramedics, their regularisation in tribal districts and solution to their problems of salaries and upgradation. They demanded immediate release of salaries of paramedical staff in the hospitals of Swabi and Bannu districts.
