Selena Gomez is working on her next album

Selena Gomez has broken ground on her next album, her fourth, and she’s gearing up to a whole new era!

On The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in December 2022, Gomez hinted about working on the new record. But recently when asked, Selena only revealed that she’s “open to a tour, 1,000 per cent”.

“The music I’m doing right now is about real things that I’m walking through. It’s really powerful, strong. The theme generally is freedom — freedom from relationships, freedom from the darkness,” the star explained.

Selena also revealed that her upcoming drop is “very pop” and a departure from her melancholy projects.

Cinderella getting horror-inspired adaptation

There seems to be a new trend of scary movies that take inspiration from our favourite childhood stories. Called Cinderella’s Revenge, a new Cinderella-focused horror film is in the works, starring Lauren Staerck and Natasha Henstridge, and directed by Andy Edwards.

The film follows Staerck’s Cinderella as she seeks revenge on her wicked stepsisters and stepmother with the help of her fairy godmother played by Henstridge.

“Cinderella is the most famous fairy tale in the world,” producer Mark Amin told. “We were able to develop a great horror script that is also a female empowerment story with global appeal.”

The movie happens to be just the latest in a new trend established in part by Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey, this year. Despite scathing reviews, a sequel for the Pooh film is already in development.

Harry Potter reboot in the works

The Harry Potter franchise is one of the most iconic in cinematic history. And now, Warner Bros. Discovery officially announced that a new Max Original is in the works, rebooting the Harry Potter franchise.

The series will once again follow the guidance of the books, but this time over the course of seven seasons and will “dive deep into each of the iconic books that fans have continued to enjoy for all of these years.”

The author of all seven books, J.K. Rowling, is also involved. In an official statement, Rowling said that she’s, “looking forward to being part of this new adaptation.”

There is no official casting yet for the Max Harry Potter reboot series. However, it is said that there is a “concerted effort” to cast “more people of colour” this time.

The Harry Potter TV show reboot will premiere on Max, sometime in 2025 or 2026.
