LAHORE: The elders of the newly-formed Istehkam-i-Pakistan Party (IPP) held a meeting here on Wednesday to discuss the party’s election manifesto, registration with the Election Commission of Pakistan, and the plan of action for the upcoming general election.

Chaired by Jahangir Tareen, the meeting was attended by Aleem Khan, Ishaq Khakwani, Awn Chaudhry, Firdaus Ashiq Awan, Rana Nazeer, Chaudhry Ali Akhtar, Mian Khalid, and others.

The meeting focused on party organisation and the membership drive, as well as establishing contacts with more political figures, especially those affiliated with the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, in order to attract them to join the IPP. The party was officially launched on June 8.

Former PTI MPA Farrukh Mumtaz Maneka met with Mr Tareen, who recently returned home from London after his medical check-up, and announced his decision to join the IPP.
