ISLAMABAD: Justice Khawaja Mohammad Naseem, the senior-most judge of the AJK Supreme Court, was sworn in as the acting chief justice of Azad Jammu and Kashmir on Monday.

AJK President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry administered the oath of office to the acting chief justice.

The oath-taking ceremony held at Kashmir House Islamabad was attended by AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq, ministers, AJK Supreme Court Justice Raza Ali Khan, Chief Justice AJK High Court Justice Sadaqat Hussain Raja, Justice Mohammad Ejaz Khan, Justice Chaudhry Khalid Rasheed, Justice Mian Arif Hussain and Chief Election Commissioner retired Justice Abdul Rasheed Salharia. Akram Khan is currently abroad.

Meanwhile, the AJK president expressed condolences over the demise of the mother of former director general information

Raja Azhar Iqbal and prayed for the departed soul.
